VILLAGE SAUNA NEWSLETTER | VOL. 6

SOME THOUGHTS AFTER OUR EAST END BEACH EVENT
You can’t build a local business without local buy-in, and we’re really proud and flattered to say that this past weekend showed us how much demand there is for waterfront sauna in the Portland area. Throughout 10 sold-out sauna sessions at East End Beach, we received comments of gratitude and enthusiasm for our business—some of which were captured in the Portland Press Herald article detailing our customers’ experiences last weekend. Friendly Mainers walking by asked us when we’d be back, others asked if we could park at the beaches near where they live. It’s one thing to receive thoughtful support from friends and family—in the form of a hot chocolate during a below freezing sauna day, or a congratulatory six pack or bouquet of flowers after a major milestone—but another thing entirely when strangers passionately encourage you to keep going.
After roughly a year of planning, pop-up events, early morning sauna towing, operating weekly, and figuring out how to make the customer experience as lovely as possible, we’re so thrilled to have been the first mobile sauna invited to operate at a public beach in the Portland area.
We’re collecting signatures from Mainers who’d like to see us at East End Beach again; the petition is linked here (thanks to all those who’ve already signed!) We’re working to get long-term permission to operate in waterfront spaces to help Mainers comfortably enjoy our beautiful beaches year-round, and your support means so much to us.
CATCH US IN OUR LAST 3 WEEKS AT NIGHT MOVES & LAMBS
We’ll be operating the sauna for the next three weeks on a Wednesday/Friday/Sunday schedule. As always, our bucket of ice water will be extra icy for those looking for help cooling off between rounds in the sauna.
This is your chance to have a relaxing sauna session, change into comfortable, dry clothes, and enjoy Night Moves pastries and coffee or a beverage at Lambs.
And use code SPRINGSAUNA to take $5 off your session before we close out our season at Night Moves & Lambs (and stay tuned for what’s next!)

INDUSTRY NIGHT AT VILLAGE SAUNA
We’re offering $20 sessions to Mainers working in our beloved food, beverage and hospitality businesses. Come out to enjoy an hour-long session at the sauna on Sunday, April 26th from 4-8pm.

EXCITEMENT FOR SAUNA IN MAINE
We wanted to share some of our favorite quotes we’ve captured through our recent petition.
“I dip at the east end most mornings but take a pause in the winter- this would make it so I could enjoy the eastern prom year round!!”
“A community Sauna is a true gift to build human connections and connections to our natural world, foster a sense of belonging, create a healthier (in body mind and spirit) population and bring joy in a simple and inexpensive way. More community saunas please!”
Want to share your own quote? Include your thoughts in the comments of our petition to park our sauna at the water.
